SKIP HIRE FAQ
How long can I keep my skip for?
The price we quote is for the skip and not a daily rate.
However, hire periods of over two weeks need to be agreed prior to ordering.
What size skip do I need
This can depend on a number of things such as the contents of the skips. For heavy material, the largest size would be 10 cubic yards. Our sales team can recommend a size to match your requirements
Is there anything I CANNOT put in the skip?
Yes. The following items are not permitted to be placed in or beside the skip for environmental reasons:
- Fridge Feezers
- Asbestos
- Tyres
- Batteries
- Gas Bottles
- Fluorescent Light Tubes
Should you wish to dispose of these materials, we can arrange this to be done in a safe manner
I don't have a driveway. Can the skip be placed on the road?
Yes, although a permit will need to be obtained from the local council. In many cases, we can organize the permit for you, however, some councils state that the hirer must apply. Click here to find out the procedure for your area.
Please call us on 020 8985 5000 and we will be happy to arrange a license on your behalf where possible.
I don't have time to wait for a permit and I do not have any off road space. Are there any other options?
For larger loads we have a grab lorry service . Alternatively, we offer a wait-and load service whereby the driver will wait until the skip is full then take it away
I'm not sure if a skip will be able to get in my drive
Call one of our sales team who will be happy to discuss the logistics.
How much notice do I need to give you
24 hrs is usually the norm, however
we know that sometimes there is a need for greater
urgency. If you need a skip at short notice, please
speak to one of our sales team and they will try
to accommodate you.
Can you deliver at anytime?
Our delivery times are 7am – 5pm
How do I pay?
If you are not one of our credit account
customers, then payment can be made over the phone
via credit / debit card.
Can I get aggregates delivered inside my skip also?
Yes. We can tip sand or other materials into a specified area before we drop the skip off
Are there any other requirements?
Should your skip be placed on the road, it will need to be lit. Skips should not be loaded above the top edge of the skip.
