Tyre Recycling

For a number of years there has been a ban on tyres entering landfill sites, either whole or shredded. Safe tyre disposal continues to present a challenge, but one for which McGrath offer a sustainable solution.


With an investment of over £3m in plant, McGrath can claim to have one of the UK’s largest, most efficient and sophisticated tyre recycling operations. We are able to process great quantities of used tyres of all sizes, from wheelbarrows to large earth-mover tyres.


By using our services, our clients can be confident that they are following best practice and meeting legal obligations whilst also boosting their green credentials. Tyre recycling is another solution to help improve our clients’ environmental performance by supporting the development of sustainable recovery and recycling.

Members of the public or trade customers may either bring tyres to our material recycling facilities or arrange collection via our many vehicle or container options. The tyres are then processed to create shredded rubber fibre from 100mm down to crumb size.
