Background info:
Many electrical items contain valuable plastics and precious finite metals including gold, silver, copper and indium (used in liquid crystal displays). These are valuable in the recycling process and can be reused in new products.
We are fully licensed to collect and disposal of WEEE and we have considerable experience of managing this type of waste.
We offer clients assurance the materials are recycled in full compliance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. For IT all items are erased and destroyed in full compliance with the Data Protection Act.
McGrath WEEE Recycling Solutions:
We can provide a regular collection service in which we provide secure containers that would be collected periodically or an on-demand service in which we will collect WEEE items on request of the site contact/caretaker (with response times agreed and documented in the Service Level Agreement).
How it is recycled:
We transport WEEE to fully audited service partners (authorised treatment facilities or ATFs) where re-use or recycling takes place. Typically this may involve a variety of secure techniques from depollution to disassembly, shredding, recovery or preparation for disposal.
A full audit trail is available in the form of evidence notes issued by our partners which are provided to the source customer.
