Should you require sand or ballast in conjunction with an empty skip, our driver will be happy to tip the materials into a specified area before we drop the skip off.

Reject Sand

• A soft recycled sand. Can also be an ‘As Raised Sand' (unprocessed quarry sand).
• Used for bedding around pipes and cables in trenches or ‘blinding' off a site.

DOT Type 1 Granite Granular Sub Base DTP SHW803

• Made from Rock usually Granite (as shown) or Limestone (which is pink in colour)
• Used as a Sub Base to Roads, Drives and Footpaths.
• Imported from quarries in the UK or from outside the UK by sea to wharves.
• Now mainly used for main adopted roads and back filling to road repairs. Our DOT Type 1 crushed concrete now often used as a cheaper alternative.

  Sharp Washed Sand

• Used for bedding to paving or making concrete floor screed
• Imported from quarries and wharves from sea dredging

20mm Ballast 

• Also known as All in Ballast, it is a 50/50 blend of Sharp Sand and 4-20mm Gravel
• Used to make Concrete
• Imported from quarries or wharves from sea dredging

4-10mm Shingle

• Also known as 10mm Shingle, 10mm Gravel or Pea Shingle.
• Used for Pipe Bedding, or a finish to Drives and Flower Beds.
• Imported from quarries or wharves from sea dredging.

Building Sand

• Also known as ‘Soft Sand' or ‘Pit Sand'.
• Used for making mortar for brick laying.
